Consolidating Teams into a Single Headquarters

Edenred, a global leader in digital platform for services and payments, set out to consolidate its two Boston offices into a single 18,000 sq ft location.

Following Edenred’s acquisition of Reward Gateway, the aim was to bring both teams together under one roof and create a workplace that supports their shared vision and evolving ways of working.

The Brief & Challenges

A Data-Led Workplace Strategy

Edenred first partnered with us in 2015, when our sister company Area delivered the design and fitout of their London offices.

Building on this successful relationship, Edenred returned to us in 2023 to support their planned relocation and consolidation with Reward Gateway. In 2024, Boston-based Edenred engaged us again to carry out location and workplace analysis to support the consolidation of their two offices.

Bringing together Edenred and Reward Gateway presented a unique set of challenges. As two teams with distinct workplace cultures, uniting under one umbrella had the potential to create uncertainty and disruption for employees. Aligning expectations, ways of working, and space requirements, while maintaining engagement across both businesses, was critical.

In addition, developing a workplace strategy that reflected their hybrid working policy and supported collaboration without compromising efficiency required careful planning and stakeholder involvement.

Our Approach

From Insight to Action

360 Workplace led a two-phase programme, beginning with employee postcode mapping to identify the optimal area and define a practical search geography for the new office.

We analysed home to office travel patterns to understand current and future situation for all employees. This established a clear search geography for a single, combined site and provided the evidence base for a stay/go assessment.

Drawing on best practice, we proposed a dynamic ABW framework that balances open collaboration with enclosed focus rooms and discreet support spaces. Integrated AV was treated as an enabler rather than a visual statement, coordinated with lighting and sightlines to support reliable hybrid meetings and town-halls without clutter.

Our consultancy extended into operational detail – right-sizing day one workstation and unassigned seating policies. The combined activities – postcode mapping first, followed by data analysis – produced a clear, actionable report with recommendations and next steps. This gave Edenred a validated footprint, a confident brief, and a targeted shortlist aligned to their hybrid policy and growth objectives.
