The Brief

A Growing Brand

Oliver Bonas is a leading UK retail brand with its Support Office in Chessington. As the company grew, the team expanded beyond its original office – connected to the main warehouse – into a second building on the same industrial site.

This growth brought success but also challenges. Splitting teams across two buildings created inefficiencies, including difficulties moving products between sites and reduced day-to-day collaboration. Over time, the office had evolved reactively, with ad-hoc changes rather than a clear workplace plan, leading to a layout that no longer supported how people worked or the company’s ambitions for growth.

Oliver Bonas needed a workplace strategy that would resolve these issues while protecting the culture and creativity that define the brand.

Our Approach

A Data-Led Strategy

360 Workplace partnered with Oliver Bonas to develop a future-focused workplace strategy that blended data, insight, and vision to reflect both the company’s culture and its operational needs.

The process began with a leadership workshop to align business goals with cultural priorities and define what the workplace should enable. In-depth interviews followed with team heads to capture specific needs, workflows and adjacencies, ensuring the strategy reflected real organisational requirements.

A detailed space audit assessed how the current office was used, highlighting challenges around layout, utilisation and experience. Finally, performance data and existing information were reviewed to validate the findings and build a robust evidence base for recommendations.

The Outcome

Designed for Culture and Belonging

Our strategy provided a clear vision and roadmap for a new Oliver Bonas workplace. Central to this was a “one-roof” approach, bringing all teams together in a single location to improve collaboration and remove inefficiencies.

The plan also created opportunities to showcase the brand by featuring Oliver Bonas’ own products within the workspace, connecting employees more closely with the company’s identity and purpose.

Cultural elements were built in – from spaces that encourage informal interaction to initiatives that celebrate achievement and build pride and belonging. Technology upgrades were recommended to support flexible, efficient working across teams.

By combining spatial, cultural and technological solutions, the strategy delivers a workplace that reflects who Oliver Bonas is: creative, collaborative and people-first – designed to bring everyone together under one roof.
